The University Honors and Leadership (UHL) program has a variety of offerings that provide our participants with educational experiences beyond the standard classroom environment. From conducting cutting-edge research with CU Denver faculty members to study abroad experiences to internships, the UHL program provides a variety of opportunities that complement your academic program.
Be a researcher. Our students have the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research under the guidance of faculty mentors.
Be a world traveler and global learner. Our students have had extraordinary study abroad opportunities in places like Ireland and Germany. Stay tuned for our next international adventure.
Be an active participant. We celebrate our community with a number of annual events.
The University Honors and Leadership community is more than an academic one and the cohort-based nature of the UHL program offers unique opportunities for interaction beyond the classroom. One core value of UHL is making a positive contribution to the wider community. This includes CU Denver and the Auraria Campus, our city, our state, and beyond.
Giving back is a key component of being part of UHL and students are required to complete a minimum of one community engagement project each semester.
Our community service program offers students a variety of opportunities to engage with the community and promotes social interaction with their UHL peers at the same time. Some opportunities will be sponsored by the UHL program and others will be developed and managed by UHL students, maybe even you!
We update our list of community service options frequently. Two of our most popular are Project C.U.R.E and the Denver Public Library Used Books Sale. UHL students have invested hundreds of hours supporting them. But, if neither of these interest you, don't worry. We've got plenty more ways for you to engage with your community.
